Full-Time Aviation Operations Program Manager
Job Description
Avenge Inc. is seeking an Aviation Operations Program Manager to work out of its Sterling, Virginia
headquarters. This is a full-time, salaried position. This position uses broad knowledge of aviation
policies, procedures and requirements to develop plans and manage contract operations that ensure
a strong record of performance and continued success. This position establishes overall performance
goals and tracks progress. The Program Manager will be responsible for managing direct personnel
daily, and serve as the Avenge principal point of contact to the Customer’s program management
team. The managed worksites are typically OCONUS, located in austere environments. The Aviation
Operations Program Manager reports directly to the Director of Aviation Operations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Ensure compliance and completion of all elements of the Performance Work Statement
Ensure customer and any Prime Contractor satisfaction with performance and deliverables
Manage and maintain proper staffing levels
Provide team leadership and logistics operations direction
Manage and direct operations associated with the site
Direct completion of assigned tasks within estimated time‐frames and budget
Review and analyze reports to determine training developmental needs
Enforce work standards and resolves discrepancies to ensure contractual compliance
Conduct business practices to ensure government and contractor requirements are met
Evaluate performance and develop changes to ensure continued progress toward goals
Evaluate contract modifications and provide recommendation to the Company for approval
Prepare and deliver presentations for the Company
Reporting and compliance with applicable Company policies
Ensure execution of all plan elements to include travel, training, security, and billeting
Ensure maintenance of a safe and healthy work environment for all employees
Represent the Company at meetings and conferences as required
Perform additional duties as directed by supervisor
EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS, and EXPERIENCE:
Must be a US Citizen and possess an active US Department of Defense Top Secret clearance
Thorough knowledge of US Department of Defense Aviation Operations Policies and
Procedures
Thorough understanding of Pilot and Flight Operation Manager operational requirements
Thorough knowledge and relevant experience in managing profit and loss at the program level
Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field of study – Aviation, Business Management
PMP Certification preferred but not required
10+ years of Aviation experience with a background as a fixed or rotor wing pilot
Minimum of 1 year relevant experience with DCMA INST 8210.1 operations
Experience with FAA Part 135 Aviation Operations a plus
Demonstrated leadership and organizational skills
Demonstrated ability to delegate responsibilities effectively
Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative management style
Excellent computer skills and proficient in Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Must be willing to travel both CONUS and OCONUS as required by the contract into austere
overseas work locations (travel less than 10% of job)
