ANNOUNCEMENT NO: 18-0602 POSITION TITLE: RC-26 Pilot/MSO
MINIMUM GRADE: 2Lt/O1
LOCATION OF POSITION: 186th ARW, Meridian, MS MILITARY ASSIGNMENT REQUIREMENT: Officer AFSC: 11R3N or 12R3N
Two (2) positions will be filled from this announcement.
This is a temporary position, currently funded through 30 June 2020, and may extend another FY.
GENERAL:
Available to any qualified RC-26 Pilot or Mission Systems Officer (MSO) who is a qualified instructor or can, by the determination of unit leadership, achieve instructor qualification within a reasonable time. The purpose of this position is to develop, administer and maintain the aviation management programs required to support an Air Force aviation program, and to instruct formal course and certifications on the RC-26B aircraft. This position is an integral part of the RC-26 OSS Det and provides support to ten geographically separated flying detachments. The incumbent will support the development and sustainment of standardized operations, training, tactics, safety, and evaluation programs and will maintain MWS-specific Air Force Instructions.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (Not all inclusive, will be fully explained during interview) Conducts training for unqualified ANG aircrew members and proficiency and upgrade training for qualified ANG personnel. Training includes the full cycle of theory, formal classroom instruction, and actual flight practice. Training activities, as related to the particular mission and aircraft assigned, include combat tactics, flying in mountainous terrain, performing tactical remote site evaluation, performing landings on remote sites, provide FN ground and flight training, and conduct Night Vision operations and instruction. During flight, explains and demonstrates the proper method of executing assigned duties and is responsible for the student’s safe execution of those duties. Administers combat flight training to military aircrews. Instructs and evaluates pilots or MSOs through a broad training spectrum, in addition to performing pilot or MSO duties. Responsible for the safety of the Mission Rehearsal Team (MRT) ground party. The IP/IMSO is directly responsible for planning, briefing, and the execution of all mission scenarios. Performs pilot and pilot-in-command duties, or MSO duties in assigned aircraft and provides a full range of ground and airborne flight instruction to AF and ANG instructors, flight examiners, and assigned personnel in unit type aircraft. Training encompasses all aircraft assigned tasks with potential or assigned missions; and, includes formal class room instruction and actual flight practice. Tasks may include wartime and peacetime day, night, and night-vision assisted missions executing combat tactics and employment in all types of weather conditions including flight in mountainous terrain, threat systems engagement and avoidance, aerial reconnaissance, forward air control (aircraft), air-to-air and air-to-ground combat tactics, Combat Search and Rescue (CSAR), and remote-site landings. Performs other duties as assigned.

SUPPLEMENTAL PREREQUISITES: 1. Must meet the Preventative Health Assessment (PHA)/physical qualifications outlined in AFI 48-123, Medical Examination and Standards. They must also be current in all Individual Medical Readiness (IMR) requirements to include immunizations. RCPHA/PHA and dental must be conducted not more than 12 months prior to entry on AGR duty and an HIV test must be completed not more than six months prior to the start date of the AGR tour. Must have physical exam approved by State Air Surgeon prior to entry into the AGR program. 2. Airmen must meet the minimum requirements for each fitness component in addition to scoring an overall composite of 75 or higher for entry into the AGR program. For members with a documented DLC which prohibits them from performing one or more components of the Fitness Assessment, an overall "Pass" rating is required. 3. Military grade will not exceed the maximum military duty grade authorized on the UMDG for the position. 4.
