Full-Time Simulation Integration Engineer
Job Description
BGI is seeking a Simulation Integration Engineer with experience in installing, integrating, operating and sustaining equipment and applications in the simulation and training environment. The individual’s primary responsibility will center on NAVAIR’s “Next Generation Threat System” (NGTS), a product that provides constructive entities to the battlespace simulation. The individual will rely on their technical acumen and experience to introduce, develop, configure, operate and enhance the operation of NGTS in a fielded training system. The work will extend past NGTS to include interoperability concerns with other components in the system, such as network operations (e.g. DMO network) and system interoperability (e.g. effects in other devices due to NGTS data).
Job Responsibilities
- Provide technical expertise in configuring, operating, and troubleshooting NGTS
- Work with on-site personnel to identify and capture NGTS improvements as technical requirements
- Participate in troubleshooting activities of all training system components to localize issues and develop solutions
- Provide technical assistance with NGTS mission configuration (e.g. scenarios, model database, visual database, behavior editors, etc.)
- Develop work plans and communicate status to teammates and management
- Other duties related to technical administration, maintenance and operations of the simulation system
General Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a computer-related field, with a preference for Computer Science
- Technical experience with Simulation and Training system, architectures, products
- Experience troubleshooting simulation and training systems
- Experience with interoperability (e.g. DMO)
- Knowledge of DoD cybersecurity
- Excellent communications skills (written & oral) with the ability to conduct technical briefings
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience NAVAIR’s Next Generation Threat System (NGTS)
- Experience with Windows and RedHat Linux operating systems
