Job Description
The 186 Air Operations Group (AOG) in Meridian, MS is looking for experienced pilots, air battle managers, and other officers/enlisted members to fill crucial staff positons. Our unit provides experienced A-Staff manpower to a Component Numbered Air Force (cNAF) during exercises and contingency operations.
PILOTS – Our staff officer positions may interest pilots who want to pursue a civilian/commercial aviation career and remain in the military. Pilots can enjoy an airline and military career without having to maintain currency in a military aircraft. We employ aviators with experience in all types of operations regardless of background; fighter, airlift, aerial-refueling, ISR, etc.
OTHER OFFICERS – We employ officers in Air Battle Management, Civil Engineering, Intelligence, Aircraft Maintenance, Communications, Airfield/Airspace Operations, Space Operations, etc. We also have some “non-specific” officer positions that do not require a particular AFSC.
ENLISTED – We employ enlisted members in Air Traffic Control, Airfield Management, Contracting, Fuels, Intelligence, Personnel, Knowledge Operations, Aircraft Armament Systems, Client Systems, and many other AFSCs.
You do not need to be a resident of Mississippi to apply. We have people who reside all over the country who call our unit home and believe in our mission.
These are traditional positions (part time). You can continue serving your country, using your experience, and pursuing a military retirement after separation from active duty. There may be opportunities to volunteer for extended TDYs for individuals close to a full active duty retirement.
You will use your valuable experience and leadership skills to provide a critical link between the warfighter/first responder and combatant commander.
