Job Description

Our Mission:  “Fly, Fight, and Win by Providing Combat-Ready C-17 Aircrews for the Defense of the United States of America and its Global Interests.”

 The 326th Airlift Squadron is part of the 512th Airlift Wing and operates the C-17 Globemaster III.  Dover is located approximately 1.5 hours from PHL, BWI, and DCA and 45 minutes from the popular Delaware beaches.

 

We are currently accepting application packages for prospective pilot training (UPT) candidates to meet future UPT Boards.  Squadron-level interviews will be held in fall of 2015 (specific dates are yet to be determined).  If you are not selected to interview for a particular board, application packages will be kept on file for 18 months.  However, updated contents must be received in order to be considered for future boards.

From commencing undergraduate pilot training to achieving full mission readiness takes approximately 2.0 years, then the position will become part-time.  You will incur a 10-year service commitment upon completion of UPT.  The ability to relocate to the local area to actively participate in monthly drill weekends and maintain currency is required.

Prerequisites:

  • Minimum of an FAA-issued civilian Private Pilot certificate
  • No UCMJ actions, DWI/DUI or a history of drug or substance abuse
  • Bachelors Degree or higher education level
  • Be under the age of 30 as of UPT start date
  • Have the capability to pass the Air Force Flying Class I Physical

  1. Cover letter--should include your reasons for seeking a pilot position with our squadron, your future career plans (civilian and military) and the name(s) of anyone you personally know in the 512th Airlift Wing.
  2. Resume (one page)--should at least contain:
    1. Complete work history (civilian and military)
    2. Education since high school
    3. Complete breakdown of your flight time
    4. Any special qualifications or experience
    5. List of your significant awards and recognition
    6. Security clearance information and date of last background check – if applicable
    7. Score from your last Air Force physical fitness test (self reported) – if applicable
      1. Your age/birth date
  • Print-out of official AFOQT and PCSM Scores
  • Official college transcript(s) for all schools attended
  • Letters of Recommendation with contact information (Minimum of three)
  • Copies of civilian pilot certificate(s)
  • Copy of last logbook page with flight time totals
  • Copies of last three military performance reports (OPRs/EPRs)--if applicable
